Since 1991 Unigreen Food Pty Ltd has been processing Australian Soybeans into Soy milk and Soy curd (Tofu), producing over 30 types and varieties of Soya products.
Our daily prepared Soya products from naturally fresh and pure ingredients are widely distributed and well accepted by consumers.
Guided by the motto “… a well balanced diet is key to a healthy lifestyle”…, we came to realize that consumers are always looking for healthy ways to lose weight, and fight obesity among the young and adults, and to show that an unbalanced diet could lead to diabetes.
At our Bankstown modern plant with advanced technology systems, UNIGREEN FOOD has proudly developed its new product:
Soy Multifunctional Ingredients - SMI® : 60, 80, 100, 120.
These are naturally purified hi-fibre and protein derived from Soybeans.
Fibre comes from plant sources and is an important part of healthy diet.
SMI has dietary fibre, 47% minimum, more than that in wheat and other cereal bran and is gluten free.
SMI with its dietary fibre and enhanced protein helps consumers maintain the recommended WHO daily intake for dietary fibre of 25-30 grams, helps control blood cholesterol, heart conditions and high blood pressure.
SMI provides natural dietary fibre used as a bulking agent to promote and help bowel regularity, protect against certain diseases such as colon cancer, and gallstone risk in women.
SMI contains less than 13 calories per gram, effectively reducing the calorific density of foods, it helps retain and control moisture and maintain good texture.
SMI will extend beneficial functional advantages to a variety of food products that include: baked and bakery foods, pasta, small goods, meat substitutes and meat products – hamburgers, sausages, meatballs……etc, vegetarian goods and health food products.
SMI, as a direct product of Soybeans has appreciable amounts of Isoflavones that helps reduce women’s periodic discomfort and other, related, cancer diseases. Also, it improves kidney functions in male diabetes sufferers.
SMI, being a natural product of Soybeans, with its minimum content of 27% protein (As Is) has a well balanced good supply of essential Amino Acids that are close to that of eggs and milk. High quality amino acids meet physiological human needs.
SMI has good supplies of natural Vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant that protects cells from damage. Once incorporated in the diet it provides Lecithin, a natural blend of Phospholipids, which play an integral part in brain and nerve functions.
SMI retains up to 6 times its weight in water promoting softer crumbs in baked goods, enhancing freshness and increasing shelf life. Also, it reduces fractures of bases in prepared meals such as pizza and bread, with strong binding ability of ingredients in food mixes that ultimately improve yield.
SMI is a rich source of minerals, half a cup (50g) supplies 600mg of Potassium (more than quarter of 2,000mg daily minimum we should have); 320mg of Calcium (10% of the daily value); 320mg of Phosphorus (more than 40% of daily value); 6mg of Iron about 40% of the needs for adult women.
SMI reduces oil absorption, and oil is easily drained off food types that require deep frying.
SMI texture range varies from coarse to very fine [60, 80, 100, 120 mesh], free flowing pure white/ivory powder free from off flavours or odours.
